This season’s previous result
CYL 2-3 TPUFC

The Jaguars will entertain Young Lions at Queenstown Stadium tomorrow evening after coming off the back of an impressive 2-0 victory last weekend.

Young Lions are just below the Jaguars at 11th position on the table but are only four points adrift while the Jaguars are two points away from 9th place Woodlands Wellington and a victory tonight will be crucial as the Jaguars continue on our quest to climb back up the table.

Star forward Monsef Zerka scored a stunning goal last week and that may be the focal point in a return of confidence even though his performance in each game have been nothing but exemplary. That and the fact that he scored a hat-trick in our last meeting against the Young Lions will mean Monsef will look to increase his goal tally.

The return of Firdaus Idros from suspension will finally give Head Coach Patrick Vallee a pleasant headache finally. The reliable Tengku Mushadad came on as a substitute in the last game and it remains to be seen if he will start tonight’s game with Anthony Aymard and Sazali Salleh excelling last weekend.

Masrezwan Masturi and Nor Azli Yusoff will however still be out due to injuries.

The Young Lions outfit have been struggling all season long and their two victories needed a lot of help from their opponents and the only way they can hope to get a result is only if the Jaguars fail to turn up.

Sherif El-Masri is one player to watch as he can threaten when he is in form, which is of course something of a rarity. The real threat will be Sahil Suhaimi, who have managed to score five goals despite the lack of quality in his team. Another notable player is Jordan Webb though he has been blowing hot and cold all season but can damage if left unwatched.

Head Coach Patrick Vallée will see this game as an opportunity to get three points and knows the quality in his team is more than sufficient to do so. A win at home will also be nice for the supporters and that is not lost on the Jaguars, who have a lot to prove after starting the season with injuries and pure wretched luck plaguing the team.

The Courts Young Lions players will be eager to perform to improve their chances of getting selected for a Singapore Selection side who will play Juventus FC soon and in doing so, are bound to give a hard fight for the Jaguars tonight promising to make this affair an interesting one.

See you there!
