If there was any piece of history of Tanjong Pagar United Football Club that is the most important, surely it was the date on which the club was founded.

40 years ago today, 14 April 1974, the club was founded as Tiong Bahru Football Club as part of the Tiong Bahru Constituency Sports Club by former Senior Minister of State for Community Development Mr Ch’ng Jit Koon and current General Manager Mr Richard Woon.

40 years on, Tanjong Pagar United is currently one of the household names of Singapore Football. Under the leadership of current Head Coach Patrick Vallee and GM Richard Woon, the club managed to achieve a silver medal in the 2013 RHB Singapore Cup as well as a sixth position in the S.League.
