The Jaguars opened the season on a positive note with a win over Harimau Muda at Pasir Gudang Stadium on Monday night.

As previous meetings have shown, despite being a youthful squad, the Young Tigers have never been easy opponents. The match was made even tougher after the Jaguars received marching orders for Nor Azli Yusoff and Ruzaini Zainal.

As noted by Masrezwan Masturi after the game, the team showed character despite going a goal down and did very well to hang on to the slim lead to bring three points back to Queenstown.

The Young Tigers were the more aggressive side, launching continuous attacks therefore it is not surprising they had more shots at goal with a ratio of 14:6.

Despite enjoying only 42% of the total possession, the Jaguars were disciplined in defence. Anthony Aymard had a total of 75% tackles won, making him the best defender on the pitch for the match. As a team, the Jaguars managed to string 234 passes against a fast and energetic Harimau Muda.

In midfield, the creative Kamel Ramdani was closed down by the Young Tigers, allowing Sebastien Etiemble more freedom and space to achieve a 76% pass completion rate. Despite that, Ramdani still managed to achieve two assists to his name to help the team win.
