1998 was no doubt the most memorable year for all Jaguars supporters. That year, we clinched the Singapore and FA Cup double, and narrowly lost out on the S.League title on goal difference.

The 1998 squad was also remembered for having legendary players like Lim Tong Hai, Samawira Basri, S Subramani, Steven Tan and Lee Man Hon. We also interviewed long time supporter Sufi Hamzah on his thoughts of the 1998 win and the upcoming final.

Interestingly, the Singapore Cup was started in 1998, and we were the first club to win the inaugural title.

To commemorate the 15 years anniversary, JaguarsTV produced this short feature, “It was 1998” and interviewed three members of the 1998 winning squad; Lim Tong Hai, S Subramani and Samawira Basri; as well as long time supporter, Sufi.
