Zerka, Ramdani and Etiemble all found the net in the previous Queenstown encounter against the developmental side in June.

A 2-0 away win at Woodlands with Zerka and Hafiz Osman finding the net was an important morale booster and Patrick Vallée’s men carried on the good form by grabbing a win against the Young Lions. It was the first time this season that Vallée was given a selection headache with majority of the first team squad available. The 3-0 win also gave the team their second clean sheet in a row.

Ruzaini Zainal gave the Jaguars the lead in the 16th minute when his intended cross swerved towards the Young Lions goalkeeper who could only fumble the ball into the net. The Jaguars had several chances to extend their lead in the first half but efforts from Firdaus Idros, Hafiz Osman and Monsef Zerka were thwarted by desperate defending from the visitors.

Sebastién Etiemble’s free-kick from the left in the 60th minute found Kamel Ramdani unmarked in the box and the latter directed his header past the Young Lions custodian for the second goal. Four minutes later, Etiemble’s low cross from the left found Zerka who slid the ball past the goalkeeper for the final goal of the night.

The only danger from the developmental side was in the 57th minute when Sahil Suhaimi’s shot defeated everyone except the Jaguars’ goalpost.

In the post-match interview, Vallée expressed his delight at how the team managed the game tactically and also earning a clean sheet which was important for the team spirit and confidence.
