The Quarter-Final of the Starhub League Cup is almost a certainty for the Jaguars as Police SA come to Queenstown Stadium tonight for the tie. The Jaguars won our first League Cup tie with a brilliant 4-0 victory over Albirex Niigata and are expected to win easily tonight.

Police SA are defending NFL Division 1 champions but that mattered little to them last Thursday at Jurong East Stadium as the Japanese White Swans outfit brutalised the law enforcers and pegged 13 against them.

As such, they stand little chance against a Jaguars side who easily beat the Japanese outfit and yet it remains to be seen what team Head Coach Patrick Vallée will put out against them tonight so Police SA might find the going less rough.

Last time out, Patrick Vallée put Ahmad Latiff upfront in a move which which paid off immensely. The likes of Monsef Zerka, Sebastien Etiemble and Kamel Ramdani also flourished much to the White Swans’ chagrin.

Police SA definitely got a rude culture shock last Thursday but they will be keen to show that disastrous result may just be a one off. They were also missing their first-choice goalkeeper so that may have played a part as well.

Police SA Team Manager Hisham Saad will have prepared his lads well for tonight’s clash but will be missing Hishamudin Khairudin who got himself sent off last Thursday against Albirex.

Police SA will also be looking to Firdaus Tohari, Jaguars legend Tohari Paijan’s son and Farhan Shamsudin to spark any hope they might have against the mighty Jaguars tonight though it does seem like it will not be enough.

The standard between the NFL and the S.League sides is simply too far apart for the Police side to stand any chance of going through to the quarter-final and Queenstown Stadium tonight will most likely be the end of their Starhub League Cup adventure.
