His no nonsense display while protecting the back-four and surging runs at any chances available to provide attacking options earned him the nickname ‘SuperSaz’ from the Jaguars faithful.

But a horrific and unprofessional tackle almost ended Sazali’s career.

So important was his presence in the middle of the park that critics have pointed to absence of Sazali that contributed to the poorer performance of the team in the later half of the season.

After almost three months of recovery process by the sidelines, Sazali finally got to join the rest of the team for training.

“It feels great to be training with the team again after being out for six months. It is not fun at all watching my teammates train,” Sazali told tpufc.org.

“The road to recovery is not easy for me as it is the first time I got an injury this serious. But my family showed me a lot of support. The words of encouragement from my teammates and the coach also made me determined to return as soon as possible.”

With Sazali’s gradual return to action, the team will see more options in the engine room. As a member of the team who helped the club achieve its target last season, Sazali will want to again help reach the club’s target.

“My aim is to help the team achieve our target this season…and play like the player I was before my injury,” said Sazali.
