Today is former Jaguars midfielder Takaya Kawanabe‘s birthday.

Takaya joined Tanjong Pagar United Football Club in 2011, as part of the brand new squad after the club returned to the S.League. Supporters will remember him for his hardworking runs and long ranged goals that gave the Queenstown faithful reasons to cheer about.

As a natural midfielder, Takaya was often deployed as a striker and has scored 14 goals in his 53 appearances for the club from 2011 to 2012. He left Singapore in late 2012 to join Latvian side FC Jūrmala before signing for Mladost Podgorica in the Montenegrin First League in 2013.
