This season’s past result
ANFC 2-1 TPUFC
The Jaguars host the White Swans tonight at Queenstown Stadium and will be looking to extend our winning form.
After two consecutive clean-sheet victories for the first time this season, confidence is high within the Jaguars camp and the fact that it coincides with the return of injured players will no doubt explain the patchy run earlier in the season.
The Jaguars under Head Coach Patrick Vallée have not beaten Albirex yet since last season and that is a record they will be looking forward to better tonight. Having said that, the White Swans will head into tonight’s encounter off the back of an impresse 7-1 demolition of Woodlands Wellington and will pose a different sort of problem as compared to Young Lions and the Rams.
Chief striker Monsef Zerka has scored two goals on the trot and will definitely want to continue that against the White Swans. Kamel Ramdani is also getting back to form and has managed to score a goal in his last game. Support in attack from Firdaus Idros and Sebastien Etiemble will be crucial if the Jaguars are to break the White Swans’ defence apart.
Previously at Jalan Besar Stadium, the White Swans came back from a goal down to beat the Jaguars by two goals to one. The same player who scored the winning goal will remain the man to watch for the Jaguars. Kazuki Sakamoto scored a hat-trick in his last game against Woodlands and sits atop the scorers’ list alongside Rodrigo Tosi with 14 goals each.
Albirex Niigata, even though sitting in sixth place are only five points away from the top and they will want to stake their claim to the title race with a victory tonight while the Jaguars look to move further up the table with a victory as well.
As such, expect a fiery encounter tonight where both teams playing fast paced attacking football will fight hard for victory.
See you there!
